Rice ramps up efforts to increase accessibility

Rice University is installing accessibility features at Sewall Hall, Herzstein Hall and the new Music and Performing Arts Center in an effort to increase accessibility for students with disabilities, according to Vice President for Administration Kevin Kirby.

Students to weigh in on plans for new innovation hub

The administration is gathering student feedback about the construction of the innovation district adjacent to Midtown and third ward, which aims to bring entrepreneurship and start-up resources to the city of Houston, according to Thomas Killian, the Rice Management Company’s liaison for the project.

Architectronica to increase security after last year’s shutdown

“Y’all acted like animals last year, so this year we’re putting you in a zoo!” That’s the tagline for this year’s iteration of Architectronica, the public party put on by the School of Architecture, which will be charging admission and increasing security measures in response to the Rice University Police Department shutting down the party last year due to public safety concerns.
