Vote confirms replacement external vice president
Hannah Todd was elected Student Association external vice president in an uncontested election last week. Todd, a sophomore who was previously Wiess College senator, has served as Interim EVP for the last three weeks following her nomination by SA President Griffin Thomas.
Todd ran in the general election EVP race in February, coming in second place, but Justin Onwenu, the winner, resigned before taking office for personal reasons.

O’Rourke rallies students in Academic Quad
Former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke of El Paso, Texas spoke in front of the Sallyport to a sea of sunglasses and “end gun violence” signs April 17. The rally, organized by Rice Young Democrats, took place in the academic quad from noon to 2 p.m.
