News in brief: Shuttle to begin stopping at BRC, CSPD relocates to Health Center as Huff House remodels
This article has been changed from its previous version.
Shuttle to begin stopping at BRC
Due to the opening of the BioScience Research Collaborative earlier this semester, the Texas Medical Center shuttle has added two new stops to its route, both with easy access to the BRC located at University and Travis.
Effective Nov. 23, the shuttle will begin a trial schedule every half hour from 7:45 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekdays. The change will be permanent starting Nov. 30.
On average, 14 to 16 people ride the Medical Center shuttle every day. Until Monday, the shuttle had stopped running at 5 p.m. daily. The Rice Transportation Office hopes this additional hour of service will help increase the number of riders, Gbordzoe said.

CSPD relocates to Health Center as Huff House remodels
In preparation for renovations to Huff House, tentatively scheduled for Monday, Alumni Affairs and the Center for Student Professional Development have moved to temporary facilities. Alumni Affairs will be housed in the Greenbriar Building, and the CSPD staff will move to the Morton L. Rich Health and Wellness Center on the north side of campus.
Project Manager Jou Jou Zebdaoui said the construction team working on the Huff House was waiting on the city to approve a construction permit. Once construction begins, Zebdaoui expects the project to take no more than four to five months to be completed.
During this time, CSPD Director Erik Larsen said there would be no disruption to any services provided by his office. He advised students to check their e-mail and RiceLink for updates about where employers would be conducting interviews and information sessions.
