I'm Jefferson Ren and I'm running for the position of SA Secretary. I believe in the inherent goodness of human beings and the power of good government and via the position of SA Secretary, my priorities would lie in promoting both.

I'm currently a NSR from Jones and this semester I've served on the Environmental Committee and the Beyond the Hedges Working Group. I've wrote legislation supporting Post-Consumer Waste Composting on Campus, helped write the Beyond the Hedges Report, and presented our findings to Senate. That's not all; you can always trust me to go above and beyond - this year I've gone out of my way to stay overnight and attend the college meetings of 8/11 residential colleges to better understand their practices and customs.

As SA Secretary, you can be certain that this mindset of service and exceeding requirements will be reflected in my actions. By taking upon the role of managing the SA's communications, I'll not only ensure meeting minutes are taken impeccably, but also make sure the SA's operations are transparent and members of the student body will be easily able to make their comments and concerns known to the exec team. If you, the wonderful person reading this campaign statement, feel passionate about an issue you think the SA should address, I'll do everything I can to empower you to make your voice heard.
