I hate typos, and therefore wish the website included an option to correct them... Many websites do.

Baker 78 and fan of the speaker, but couldn't find any link to a video or even a transcript of the speech. Are my expectations unrealistic?

BTW, I also expect that the anti-spammer declaration and the CAPTCHA are not going to deter the spammers. In this case, the deterrence is probably due to the low traffic... I really think we could do better to break the spammers' business models, but apparently every one lives by "Live and let spam."

  • Beer Bike coordinators to vote on reduction in biker numbers
This is really indicative of something I noticed happening when I was at Rice: most students don't actually care about the traditions and Beer Bike as an event anymore. It's just an excuse to get ridiculously drunk all day (or in some cases all week). Some of it is a problem with the administration not supporting things like expanding the track (which would make it easier for less experienced riders; the current track is so crowded during the race that it is dangerous for the less experienced).

It's really sad, because this might be a step towards ending the event. If the race slips away over the years, then it's just a big drunken party (with a water balloon fight, maybe), and it will really lose what makes it one of the most unique and best parts of the Rice experience.
